GOOD FINDS // edible veggie-based finger paints
There’s this cute moment when you’re on the floor with your almost crawling baby with you mom or dad voice on high gear. You’re all “come on …you can do it.” Then that energizer bunny baby starts crawling …then walking. …then you’re walking into each room with a little heightened anxiety wondering what mess you’ll be cleaning up next.
….ALL of the movement paired with the hands to the mouth phase is enough to make ya earn bedtime, that’s for sure. Sisters and mothers, we’re navigating four kiddos between the two of us from ages one to ten. We get it!
What we LOVE for those little toddler years are projects that well, distract those tots long enough for you to drink your coffee while it’s still hot, send an email or two, or you know, maybe visit the bathroom without an audience (we get that too).
MEET VEGGIE BABY:
YOUR NEXT RAINY DAY PORCH PROJECT
Those four kiddos mentioned between the two of us - Reid is 18 months old and is one active little dude. …he’s into everything and still likes to taste test edible and non-edible things. So when we found the Veggie-Based Finger Paint, we were all thrilled. Reid is often in tow while we work up some behind the scenes magic for the coffee shop.
So entertaining this one is multitasking at its finest. It’s a vegan based finger paint that is, get this, TOTALLY EDIBLE.
DIRECTIONS
mix veggie powder at a 1:2 ratio
(we mixed just 1 teaspoon of powder to 2 teaspoons of water)
stir and let it sit for 5-10 minutes
…get to painting!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Pun intended, yes. Make all the fun you want. We like to have a “paint day” t-shirt on hand for anything that may leave its mark on clothes or let the babies go to diaper mode.
EDIBLE VEGGIE PAINT FOR TODDLERS
If you want to count it as a veggie serving, we’re cool with it.
