With the new year upon us, we had the idea to create a line of coffees that symbolize much of what the new year symbolizes for us - a fresh start, a new day, and new goals. We are elated to talk about our Plain + Simple Coffee, healthy education on coffee built with simplicity in mind.

DAIRY (free) TALK:
OAT MILK:
Oat Milk is low in fat and is an excellent choice for the lactose intolerant while providing a sweet taste and regulation of blood sugar level. It’s high in fiber, vitamins, and bone strengthening minerals. It also replaces saturated fats with unsaturated fats …so basically the super hero of dairy-free options in our opinion.
COCONUT MILK:
Coconut Milk is a great source of McTs that promote wiehgt loss by decreasing appetite and increasing energy. It’s rich in electrolytes and has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbal, and anti-fungal properties.
ALMOND MILK:
Almond Milk is, like most nut-based milks, notorious lower in ounce for ounce calorie Almond Milk is rich in Vitamin E, Vitamin D, and often higher in fiber than cow’s milk. We use unsweetened Almond Milk, but some almond milks are sweetened or flavored for added taste.
A HEALTHY APPROACH TO SWEET
SUGAR FREE SYRUPS:
Most coffee houses, ours included, have a selection of sugar free syrups. Often these sugar free syrups contain higher levels of sodium.
PUREMADE SYRUPS:
We love using our Torani Puremade Syrups, which are GMO-free with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. If you lean more towards the sweeter side for your coffee, ask for our Puremade Syrup options for an alternative to sugar free.
CANE SUGAR VS ARTIFICAL SWEETENERS
We prefer our cane sugar syrup over other sweetener options like granulated sugars or artificial sugars. Our cane sugar syrup has no artificial flavors or preservatives, it simple sweetens the drink. Artificial sweeteners have been a controversial topic, many claiming blood pressure, insulin levels, and other health related elements can take a toll from artificial sweeteners. All in all, organic cane sugar is simply more natural, less processed, and not created in a lab. Your body knows how to process it. …so it’s got our vote.
CAFFEINE DOSES:
SHOT OF ESPRESSO:
One espresso shot is about 60mg of caffeine and one espresso shot is about ounce ounce. For reference, our 12oz latte has one shot (60mg of caffeine), our 16oz latte has two shots (120mg of caffeine), and our 20oz latte has three shots (180mg of caffeine).
BLACK COFFEE:
You may find it surprising that black coffee has 12mg per ounce. So an 8ounce cup of black coffee has more caffeine content than a single espresso shot based coffee.
COLD BREW:
The average cold brew caffeine content varies depending on the strength of the brew, but averages to about 25mg per ounce. For reference, our house cold brew is mixed at a 1:1 ratio with dairy. Our 16oz has 8 ounces of cold brew concentrate (200mg of caffeine) and our 20oz has 10 ounces of cold brew concentrate (250mg of caffeine).
